Last Chance

About

Gambling Yahtzee.

Bet for the chance of big money by "completing" a card in a fixed number of rolls, or bet for or against your fellow players as they attempt to do the same. On each turn you flip over a new card. This card might have a pair and a three of a kind. It will also have a "number of rolls" you get to make the attempt. Complete the card and you get the payout.

Ideas for House Rules

  • Increase the number of dice rolled from 5 to 6.
  • Give each person a number of extra dice (say 3). They can be used at any time for a single card.
  • If it's your turn you have to start the bid at $100 for the card.
  • Increase the number of cards to 8 for a 4 player game.
  • Create a "Sudden Death" for the last round. Players role and pass the dice if they have not completed the card. Continue until the card is completed.

Fun with 4 people but it needs some house rules. The chance of actually completing a card is just too low. This makes the default gameplay to always let someone else play the card and vote against them completing it. Yes, there is a rule that says to actually win the game you need to have completed one card, but this means you just wait for something easy to come along and put all your money on it. I would love to play this again with a few of the house rules I've seen online and a couple of my own.

I enjoyed this game a little bit better than Sharp Shooters, as you're involved with every round, even if it's not your turn to roll the dice.
